A gratitude exercise for the abundant air that sustains you.

Turn your attention to your breathing. Notice how the simple act of breathing grounds you. Focus on the way the air fills your lungs. How does the air feel in your lungs? How does it feel on your skin? What does the air feel like when you're riding a bicycle? When you're surfacing from the bottom of a pool? Consider how the air affects you at different times. In each moment of your life, air gives you and every one of us life. Now ask yourself, how does this air connect me to my family? My friends? Strangers? Finally, take a moment to feel gratitude for the abundant air that sustains you and each of these people. Breathe deeply and let that sustaining force connect you to the universe, to all living things, and to God.
