Aware Walk

Take a walk to notice what's around you and what's inside.

View Transcript
If you can right now, let's go on a short walk. Getting outside can open your perspective, connect you to the environment around you and to the divine. As you begin your walk, focus on releasing any tension you may be holding throughout your body. Let your arms naturally swing, and notice the feeling of the ground beneath your feet. Bring your chin and eyes up from the ground if you're looking down. Let your breath invigorate you as you walk. You can go as slow or fast as you'd like, just stay soft and easy. Look around you. Even though you may be in a place that's familiar to you, try to find new things to notice. What colors are in the sky? Can you find a shape in the clouds? Is the wind rattling the leaves on the trees? Are there toys in a yard, markings on the sidewalk? Are there any cars parked crooked on the street? Take another deep breath. Pay attention to how the air feels in your nose. If you pass another person, smile and say hello. Reflect on what you've noticed so far. What of these things are you thankful for? Does the thing you're grateful for reflect something that matters to you? Continue this pattern of relaxing, observing, feeling gratitude, and identifying what matters to you as your walk makes you more and more spiritually aware.
