It is important to practice self-compassion and recognize that one is always trying their best to create a happy and balanced mindset. Self-compassion entails treating oneself with kindness, empathy, and acceptance, especially during trying times. It moves past harsh self-criticism and replaces it with a positive and uplifting internal dialogue.

By realizing that we are always performing to the best of our abilities in any circumstance, we are able to liberate ourselves from the burden of unjustified expectations and self-criticism. It permits us to accept our flaws and limits without feeling inadequate. Our sense of self-acceptance is strengthened by this recognition, which also empowers us to approach issues with self-compassion rather than self-criticism.

Training in self-compassion has a positive impact on how we see and interact with others as well as how we see and interact with ourselves. Knowing our own limitations helps us to be more understanding and forgiving of others, seeing that they are also doing their best. This fosters a climate of acceptance and understanding by encouraging a pleasant and supportive attitude in our interpersonal interactions.

[Kelly Boys, Mindfulness Trainer] - For me, self-compassion isn't simply naming something like, may I be happy, may I be free? Those kind of things. For me, self-compassion is understanding that you're doing the best you know how in any given moment with the conditioning and the tools that you have and acknowledging that. And that leads immediately to see that in others, but just in terms of self-compassion, knowing I'm doing the best I know how in any given moment is so powerful in unlocking the judgments that we have about how we should be and not enough and all that.
