Scars

Work with God to heal the wounds of a difficult moment.

View Transcript
You've experienced something heartbreaking, something that has cut you to the core. It may feel deep and raw in this moment, but there is a way to find healing. Right now, how are you feeling about this loss? Are you angry? Or is your mind heavy with sorrow? Or some of both? Take some time to vocalize these feelings to your higher power, to invite God into your healing process. Now, let's reflect back to the time before the loss. Recall a moment of light and joy you experienced. Ask yourself, "What is something small I can do to begin feeling this light again?" Say this thing to yourself. Decide to do this today. Now, ask yourself, "Was there anything I noticed today that lifted my spirit?" Share this with God and give thanks for that moment. Your loss will always be a part of who you are, but as you continue sharing your grief with God, your open wounds can heal and you may even discover gratitude for the scars.
