- Bad things. Yeah, bad things happen to people and I feel like it's part of being human is to encounter suffering. It can shake us to the core when we have something bad happen to us, when we feel like we've maybe done everything right or our heart's in the right place, or however we wanna frame it for ourselves. But I think part of that process of as you go through life is you just learn that hard things, challenging things will happen, and that's part of the resilience of knowing and almost expecting something will happen, and it's how I am in it that matters. And it challenges our notions of only good things will happen to me if have this certain kind of faith or not, you know? And it brings us right into the central thing of just being human and having our human experience, which includes suffering. And so bad things happen to all of us, I think. And, you know, it's the phrase old age, sickness, and death. You know, at some point none of us gets outta this alive. I think knowing that helps us to be able to encounter something hard and challenging when it happens. My sister just dealt with this recently having lost a friend in a motorcycle accident, and he left five kids behind and she had to work with that for a whole probably year and a half or two years of why do bad things happen to good people? And it took that long to get to the point of, yeah, bad things happen. It's how we react and are in it that matters. And I wish there was a way out of that question that were easier, but I think it's a little bit more nuanced.
