Use your imagination to pretend that you are randomly scrolling through your phone's contacts list and that you stop on a name, just a random name. Who is it? Hold that name in your head. And now let's do it again. Imagine you are scrolling randomly and you stop on another name. Who is this person? Now that you have both of these names in mind ask yourself which of these two people would I rather be? Made your choice? Now explain to yourself why you chose the one person over the other. Good. And now a different question. Do you think that if you could spend a day in each of these people's shoes, a week in their shoes, maybe even a lifetime in their shoes, that you might make your decision a little differently? When we sincerely seek to understand others, our spiritual connection to them grows. So here's a final question and a challenge. What small thing can you do today to better understand one of the people you were just thinking about?
