Close your eyes and ask yourself, "Who is someone in my life that I really don't like right now?" Do you know who it is? Okay, now hold your hand out in front of you, palm down, and think of five reasons why you don't like this person. For each reason, close a finger. All done? What feelings do you have right now? Notice that your hand has formed a fist. Our negative feelings for others close off our spiritual connection to them. Now turn your hand over. Count off five positive attributes about this person. For each positive attribute you can think of, stretch out one of your fingers until all five are outstretched and your palm is open to the sky. What feelings do you have now? Your palm is outstretched, open to this person, to others, and to God. Dwell here in the generosity of your open spirit.
