Many people have a highly personal and meaningful experience when they combine their daily coffee ritual with their feeling of spirituality and connection to the divine through nature. Coffee preparation can develop into ceremonial practices. One can slow down, enjoy the present, and establish a connection with nature during this period of awareness.

A morning cup of coffee is a way to communicate with the divine spirit for those who believe that the divine can be found in nature. The fire used to boil the coffee, the water used to hydrate the beans, and the smell filling the air all become metaphors for the relationship between nature and spirituality. People can develop a better sense of gratitude and appreciation for the gifts of nature by actively and purposefully connecting with these features.

The morning coffee ritual can be seen as a form of contact with the divine and can provide comfort, creativity, and a sense of connection. It provides an opportunity to reflect, slow down, and set plans for the day. Through this practice, individuals create a sacred space for themselves, helping them to start the day with a greater sense of inner peace, a more heightened awareness of their surroundings, and a perception of the divine presence that permeates all aspects of life.

[Noah Kershisnik] For me, my morning ritual of creating this small cup of coffee connects me to the divine because for me the divine is sort of encapsulated in nature. And each sort of aspect of this ritual is connected to a representation of nature. To engage with these classical elements, fire, water, air, is a way to get my mind present in my body and ready to focus on my tasks for the day. The natural world is the divine. To engage with the Earth in that very tactile way on a daily basis, without trying to rush through it to get onto the next thing. I don't know how those are connected to God, but I know that they are. I know that they must be. I know these are gifts from whatever God is. And so, starting my day with this appreciation and this respect and this ritual and this process, I think it's important to have that spirituality through everything that you do.
