Let's take a walk. You can take a walk in your imagination, or if you're outside, stroll around a bit. Enjoy the air, the sounds, and the feeling of moving around. Imagine that as you walk, you see a piece of litter on the ground. Picture that litter. What is it? Now picture the person responsible for leaving this litter. Imagine them letting it fall to the ground. It's natural to want to judge someone who does this, but let's try something different. Let's imagine why the person needed that thing. What might have been happening in their day that caused them to need it? And now ask, "Why did they leave it on the ground? Why didn't they throw it away?" Open your heart to this imagined person. What do you feel? Remember today. Curiosity is the antidote to judgment.
