They're not different, really. I mean, they're different until they're not. We have our thoughts and our thoughts are associated with thinking and a self, and a limited identity, an identity that's separate from everything else. When we have an insight into Buddhism, we call it the natural state, but we realize I can't find any boundaries. There's nothing separating anything from anything. It's all co-arising. And at that point, when we have an insight into the nature of nature, we come back, and thoughts are thoughts again. And birds are birds and mountains are mountains. But the thoughts don't obscure that insight, that we can't be separated from ourselves or anything else. So at that level of insight, it's a question of insight, when we have that insight, there's no thought that can really trouble us.
