Religion and mindfulness are disciplines that can help people find inner peace and resilience in the face of life's challenges. According to Psalm 46:1-3, God is our refuge and a steadfast help throughout suffering. Because of this, we won't be terrified even if the ground and the mountains collapse into the sea, even though the sea's waters roar, and the mountains shake.

Faith is the basis on which we can put our trust and belief in something greater than ourselves. We can find inner strength by realizing that we are not facing our difficulties alone. Through religion, we find solace and guidance, learning that there is a place we can seek refuge from the storm even when things are chaotic.

By encouraging present-moment awareness and acceptance of our experiences, mindfulness strengthens our faith. It promotes a sense of inner stability by fostering a deeper grasp of who we are and the environment around us. We are able to respond to difficulties with clarity and resilience when we are fully present because it helps us to be conscious of our thoughts and feelings without letting them control us.

Together, mindfulness and faith enable us to discover strength in our connection to something greater while keeping us grounded in the present. Because of this combination, we are able to withstand the ups and downs of life while relying on the steadfast support. Through this practice, we can cultivate inner calmness and a source of strength, giving us the confidence and fortitude to face adversity.

[Kelly Boys, Mindfulness Trainer] Do you ever feel like you are blown about by life, or lacking an inner stability, or inner strength? Check this verse out, it's from the Psalms and the Hebrew Bible. And I'd love to share a little bit with you about basic trust from mindfulness. Psalm 46: 1-3. God is our refuge in strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. Though it's waters roar and foam, and the mountains quake with their surging. What would it be like to have that level of inner stability and strength knowing no matter what happens at core I'm at peace, at core I'm held, including all of the worst case scenarios? Even then, this is the gift of that scripture. It's saying even if a mountain crumbles into the sea, even then there is this ever present help in trouble. What if you were able to actually believe that all the way through your life? That you took refuge in the faith that you're held deeply? No matter what. I think one of the fallacies of both spirituality and the sense of Christianity, and also mindfulness, is that, if I have faith I'm going to actually escape suffering. I'm going to escape hardship. And that's not true. It's just that faith helps us through. So what would it be like to consider and imagine that there's this ever present help in trouble? Even in the worst case scenario. Let's do a reflection. You can have your eyes open or closed. But I'll ask that you would consider yourself strong, having this inner core of strength and stability. So consider that the world is happening around you, just as it does in whatever level of chaos or stability, but that inwardly you're connected to trust. There's ever present help, no matter what happens, that you can reach out to. So for you, this might mean reaching out to your inner self that is here for you. It may mean reaching out to God, connecting with nature, connecting with the stability that's here amidst the instability. So you find that out for yourself in your own spiritual journey, but consider that no matter what happens, you're held. Thanks for practicing with me.
