Self-reflection is a discipline that helps us understand ourselves better by evaluating our ideas, actions, and emotions. It enables us to find areas for improvement and gain a better understanding of ourselves. Gratitude is essential for living a fulfilled life because it redirects our emphasis from what is lacking to appreciating the gifts and positive parts of our existence. It promotes a sense of abundance and contentment while opening our hearts to the beauty and kindness that surrounds us.

Seeking help from others is an act of kindness and empathy. It entails recognizing when someone in our lives is in need, whether emotional or practical. By turning to a higher power, we admit that we may not have all of the answers or solutions. It is an act of surrender and trust, seeking divine intervention, direction, and strength on behalf of those we love.

Furthermore, requesting personal assistance from a higher power is an act of humility and acceptance of our limits. It entails requesting spiritual knowledge, guidance, and help in areas where we feel weak or uncertain. By doing so, we open ourselves up to receiving divine assistance and connecting ourselves with a bigger purpose or plan. These practices, when combined, contribute to personal development, connection with others, and a deeper spiritual journey.

This is a simple exercise to stretch your spirit inward, outward, and upward. Draw your attention inward, letting your breath pull you in. Watch your inhales and exhales as they come and go. Don't be afraid to go a little slower. If it helps you focus, let your eyes drift closed. With your focus drawn inside, open your heart to God. Think of one thing you are thankful for. Say it to yourself or even out loud, "I am thankful for." Return to your breath here. Take a big inhale for four seconds. Hold it at the top for seven seconds. Now, exhale for eight seconds. Now, consider someone in your life who could use some extra help. Imagine that person in your mind. Consider what they mean to you. Reach out with your feelings toward God, asking for help for this person. Let's come back to your breath. Deep breath in, long breath out. Repeat this two more times. Now, let's look inward again. What is one thing that you need help with right now? It could be strength to do something, or wisdom to answer a difficult question or make a difficult choice. Whatever it is, ask God to help you. Bring yourself back to your breath and take some extra time to be still. Open your spirit to any thoughts, images, or feelings that come to you. Be patient enough to observe these ideas. Imagine yourself writing down any idea or impression you had. Take one more deep breath and release with gratitude for your own spirit, for others, and for God. Great job.
