[Miriam Stratman] I think when you foster a talent, you feel more of worth. When you find a skill that you have that feels unique, that feels specific to you or someone champions that it makes you feel important. I'm Miriam Stratman and I am a real estate agent. And so the reason I got into goal setting and bullet journaling was really because as part of my job I was coaching real estate agents. And it's very common in sales to make sales goals. And because I was in charge of their personal success I realized that the more goals I can get them to set in more areas of their life, and then stay accountable to them, the more likely they are to be successful in their business. And so that just slowly developed over years of coaching in this way, to really see how this can benefit anyone. Everyone feels good when you check a box. I don't think there's many people who don't feel good when they can say that they accomplished something. And this is a way to do that every day if you want, or weekly, or monthly. And it makes me feel so successful. I feel like, for me, I'm always looking for ways to develop myself. Whether that is spiritually specific, or educationally. I feel closest with God when there's any sort of progression. When I feel like I'm growing in any direction. Even if my goals, one year, aren't around specific notoriously spiritual items, the entire process feels spiritual to me because I know about the progression that I'm making with it. I'm a person who has some anxiety and some- I let myself get very stressed out. And I feel like I've really used bullet journaling and planning to alleviate a lot of that. I do sit down depending on my mental state, if I'm feeling overwhelmed or stressed or bored, if one of those things are triggering me I will sit for an hour and plan out the people I wanna focus on, the things I wanna do. And it does help me become more reflective and meditative about my own life and where I'm at right now, and which direction I wanna take with my life. You have to be able to think of something bigger than just you. And if you aren't happy, you can't think outside yourself. And I think that bullet journaling and goal setting make you a better happier person. Therefore you can affect the world. Any source of pride you have that makes you feel unique in the world, is important. It makes you feel important, and it makes you feel purposeful.
