A path of authenticity and self-discovery is necessary for leading a meaningful life that is firmly rooted in a sense of who you truly are. To identify one's values, passions, and purpose, one must look deep within themselves. Clarity and direction, which influence decisions and behaviors, are characteristics of people who are in touch with their inner selves.

Living with a strong sense of self is shown by living in line with one's core values and beliefs. The courage to follow one's instincts is necessary for making decisions that are authentic to oneself rather than giving in to social expectations or outside pressures. Living in line with one's own truth brings about a great sense of fulfillment and contentment.

People who have a strong sense of self are also better able to change the world in meaningful ways. When people share their unique skills and viewpoints, they make a positive contribution to society and enhance the lives of others. People who live sincere lives inspire and empower those around them to do the same. A deep sense of purpose, fulfillment, and a genuine sense of connection to both yourself and the rest of the world come from leading a meaningful life that is founded on a solid sense of who you are.

[Thomas McConkie, Mindfulness Teacher] There's a real art in this practice of contemplation and transformation to learning to listen from new depths of the self. So I hear this question a lot, "How can I live my best life?" The question I have that follows up on that is like, "From what depth are you sourcing the question itself and from what depth are you sourcing your motivation?" And, you know, there's a surface level depth of like, "Oh, I want to be loved, and liked, and regarded." That's fine too. But then, like, if we go 50 layers below that, you know, a thousand fathoms deep in the sea, there's the life we must live. And there's a quality when someone's living from that place, we fill it, and they become themselves. And everything they do is uniquely themselves and it's a gift.
