Visualization exercises and giving over control to a higher power are effective ways to reduce stress and promote calmness. By engaging in this practice, we may access our thoughts and establish a connection with a serenity that transcends our current situation.

To create an image in our thoughts of what we desire or what we want to let go of, we might utilize the visualization approach. In order to reduce stress, we can envision writing down our worried thoughts on physical objects, such as sheets of paper. As we identify the concept that is the most challenging for us to let go of and offer to a higher power, we symbolically fold the paper and place it in a jar. Giving up acknowledges that a stronger force is at work than we are able to control.

We develop a sense of confidence and release by giving our anxieties to a greater force, whether we refer to it as God, the universe, or any other spiritual belief. We understand that there is spiritual assistance at our disposal, so we do not have to bear the weight of our problems alone. Through this practice, we are invited to let go of the urge to be in complete control of our lives and to accept the calmness and tranquility that come from submitting to something bigger than ourselves.

It takes intentional effort to maintain inner tranquility and to relieve tension. In order to induce relaxation and ease stress, it is beneficial to imagine and surrender control to a higher force. We give ourselves the possibility to experience a greater level of peace, trust, and connection with the divine by admitting, addressing, and symbolically releasing our concerns through pictures. This approach allows us to face life's difficulties gracefully and find comfort in the fact that we're not the only ones looking for inner peace.

Close your eyes and tune out everything around you. Take a long breath and let's focus on your thoughts. As a thought comes into your mind, imagine writing it on a piece of paper. What's the next thought that comes to mind? Imagine writing that on another piece of paper. Continue to focus and write down at least a few more. Now, of the things you have written down on the pieces of paper, which is causing you the most stress? Does this stress feel negative? Why? Pick up this piece of paper, fold it, and hold it in your hand. You are in control of this thought. Exhale slowly and allow your face muscles to relax, then your neck, then your shoulders, breathe deep, and exhale the tension throughout your whole body. Now imagine placing this piece of paper and any other stressful papers into a jar. Seal the lid tight, invite God to take this container. Hand it over. Know that your thoughts are safe with God, and that you have the power to open the jar if you need to later. But right now, enjoy the peace, the stillness, the calm, a clear mind, and an open spirit.
