Personal vs. Spiritual Thoughts

Based on their source and purpose, personal thoughts and spiritual enlightenment can be distinguished from one another. Personal thoughts are products of the conditioning and experiences of the individual. They frequently result from egotistical objectives, phobias, and attachments. These ideas are motivated by the person's constrained viewpoint and are intended to meet their own demands and objectives.

However, spiritual enlightenment transcends the realm of individual thoughts. What defines it is the thought that results from a deeper level of awareness and connection. Community, compassion, and selflessness serve as the foundation for these concepts. They align with the larger good while also promoting one's well-being and the awakening of others.

The distinction between personal thoughts and spiritual enlightenment is not merely intellectual but experiential. It takes mindfulness and self-awareness to comprehend one's own intentions and motives. By engaging in spiritual disciplines like meditation, self-examination, and cultivating virtues, one may gradually align their thinking with the higher wisdom and consciousness associated with spiritual enlightenment.

[Kelly Boys, Mindfulness Trainer] - A person can distinguish between their personal thoughts and spiritual enlightenment by knowing the motivation, or where the thought is coming from. And if the thought is something that tends to serve those around you, and tends to generate connection, and wholeness, and isn't focused on a small self, then it tends more to be connected with that idea of being spiritually awake. And the personal thoughts are the ones that are sometimes coming from our own conditioning, or coming from what it is that are smaller self, or conditioned self once. And those can be distinguished just by seeing what is driving them.
