One thing about nature, it doesn't judge you, it doesn't criticize you. It accepts everybody, doesn't matter who you are. It accepts you, my name's Chris Newton and I'm a certified forest bathing guide. I really got in the forest bathing when my mother, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and it was really hard. I'm an only child. I have a real close relationship with my mom and I felt my heart a lot as a kid, a very emotional and I felt that connection with people and myself. And when I found out she had breast cancer, really changed my life and it really freaked me out. My body had a hard time dealing with it my mental state and everything. When you find out your mom is ill, it was a dark moment and in a lot of ways, but also it shined so much light. When you're in that dark state, like you're so close to light, it's almost the same thing really. And that's when I started kind of being within nature and I felt nature was healing me. I remember this one specific tree. And I just said to the tree, I was explaining to the tree, my mom is not well. And, and I just let myself open up and there was no wall around me anymore. I took down my wall and I opened it all up and I cried and I was just looking around and just trying to feel that spirit and God, and I felt it, I really felt it. I felt that connection and it really calmed me. It was an outlet for me, it was a total outlet. I needed that higher consciousness, the heart support. And that's when I got even more into it, once I had that first connection, I dove into it even more now, I felt like it was my path. It was like what I needed to do in my life. And to share it with other people too. And at the end stages of my mom's life, I became a certified guide like two months before my mom passed away. And my goal was to take my mom on a forest bathing walk to help her heal herself. But I didn't get a chance to do that with her. I sometimes talk to her when I'm going on a forest bathing walk. And I feel like I'm connected with her. And she has a time to appreciate that now, in her other realm, where her spirit is. I really feel that you can find the higher power in nature and realize that your heart is a way to open up and to connect in that realm and the higher consciousness, your higher consciousness of your heart. Once you get into it, it'll lead you down many different paths. So it's up to you, it's up to your individual path and your spiritual realm. I took the path more in the nature focused, but don't be afraid to take that path or whatever path you take and just go with it.
