Finding quiet times in the midst of our busy lives may be challenging. The distractions of daily life usually stifle the inner voice that connects us to our spiritual selves. But one must realize the great disparities between these two states of existence. Imagine yourself on a hill covered with grass, enjoying the gentle sunlight while feeling safe and loved. The calmness of this environment is a reflection of our spiritual self. It is a place where we may quietly communicate with the divine and establish sincere spiritual ties.

On the other hand, the busy and bustling cityscape stands in for the noise and distractions that pull us away from our spiritual center. The chaos and clamor of the city are a picture of the struggles and responsibilities we face every day. Through this contrast, we are able to see the importance of creating harmony between these two states. We may try to bring the radiance and serenity of our spiritual selves into our everyday lives, even though we can't always escape the noise and disruptions. By cultivating inner calm and presence, we can confront the challenges head-on and make thoughtful decisions that are in keeping with our true selves. Allow the light to flow through you today, bridging the gap between your inner peace and the outside world.

Sometimes, what can keep us from connecting to our spiritual self is the noise of life. Let's take a step back. Close your eyes, and imagine you are sitting on a grassy hill. It's peaceful here, quiet, the sun is shining gently. You feel safe and loved. This is where you can connect to the divine. Notice the quality of feeling here. What does it feel like to you? Describe it in a few words to yourself. Now, look far out, over at the horizon, and imagine you see a cityscape. Each building of the skyline represents a distraction in your life. One may be a fight you had with a friend; one, your job or bills. When you're ready, imagine you leave the hill and travel over to the city. Walk in its streets. Observe the chaos, the sounds, and the crowd moving about. How is the quality of this place different than the peace of the hill you just experienced? Describe it in a few words to yourself. Let's move one more time, but this time, to the space in between. Imagine you can see the city and you can see the hill. Are you able to access the light and peace from the hill as you reengage with the vibrancy and chaos of the city? Can the two live in harmony? Consider how you might bring the light and peace from your spiritual self into your everyday life as you let the light flow within you today.
