Strong spiritual ties and a sense of rootedness can be attained by people who regularly practice grounding and connecting with a higher power. It involves laying a strong foundation inside oneself that will enable a greater awareness of the divine or another higher power. One can firmly establish themselves in the here and now by finding stability despite the challenges and uncertainties of life. This is known as anchoring.

When we establish a relationship with a higher power, we get access to a source of wisdom, courage, and guidance that is greater than ourselves. Awareness of something higher than ourselves can take the form of a religious or spiritual belief in the interconnectedness of all things. Engaging with a higher power can provide us a sense of comfort, direction, and perspective by assisting us in seeing that we are a small part of a larger web of existence. It can foster a sense of inner peace with our beliefs and objectives while providing direction when making decisions.

It can be tremendously uplifting to establish a connection with a higher power and find a feeling of grounding, whether through prayer, meditation, being in nature, or other spiritual practices. If we can get above our limitations, we can access a treasure of knowledge and love. Fostering this connection helps us understand the virtually limitless potential that exists outside of our own unique identities and makes us feel more profoundly connected to the meaning and purpose of our lives.

- [Rehl Clarke, Yoga Instructor] - Hi guys. We are going to get a lot of grounding and connection to our higher power through this quick five-minute yoga flow. So let's get into it. We're gonna start in a seated position, but we are going to extend our legs out in front of us. We're gonna be working with our feet and our toes today to really feel grounded to the earth. And when we are grounded to the earth, we are more grounded within ourself and we can be grounded to the higher power. We're gonna start by placing our hands on either side of our hips and pointing and flexing our feet, pointing and flexing at the same time and switching, pointing and flexing one foot while the other is doing the opposite. Holding a flex in your feet and holding a point. Two more times, holding that flex and holding that point. We're gonna bring our feet close to us, coming into a butterfly. We're gonna grab the soles of our feet, and we're just gonna rub our foot back and forth. We put a lot of pressure on our feet every single day as we're walking around, giving our feet and our toes some love. This will not only help ground us but release some stress off of them. We're gonna come up onto our toes while on our knees. This is a common yoga pose called Screaming Toes and we're slowly gonna sit down onto our feet. Our hands are gonna be on our knees, and we're gonna just inhale and exhale here as we feel the burn in our feet. This is a really good grounding pose that takes concentration and and mindfulness of our surroundings. Two more breaths and release coming onto all fours and patting out our feet. Coming back into a seated position, that butterfly, we're just gonna give our toes and feet some love again, squeezing them a couple of times. And crossing our legs together. we're gonna inhale our arms up and exhale bringing your hands, heart to center. Thank you so much for feeling more grounded and connected with me today in this short yoga flow. Namaste.
