Gratitude Breathing

Breathe more gratitude into your life in this five-minute meditation.

- [Rehl Clarke, Yoga Instructor] - To feel gratitude for those around you and the things that are around you, it's best to have a cleared mind. We're gonna take the next couple of minutes to do a quick guided meditation. I want you to be in a very comfortable seated position on a couch, a chair, a yoga mat, wherever it may be and I want you to sit tall. I want you to broaden your shoulders, straighten your spine. I want you to find yourself in a very peaceful place. Our eyes are going to be closed. We're fully relaxed here. Relaxing our eyes, our cheeks, our chin. Releasing our tongue if it is touching the top of the roof of your mouth. Closing your mouth so your mouth is not opened. Relaxing your shoulders. Relaxing your stomach, your hips, your legs, all the way down to your toes. I want you to imagine yourself in your favorite spot whether that's the beach, the mountains, wherever it may be. I want you to imagine yourself sitting here, focusing on our breath. I want you to imagine the sun is shining. You feel warm sunbeams gently pressing onto your cheeks and your forehead. Maybe there's a cool breeze. Birds chirping. Sitting here in this peaceful state of mind, thinking about the many things that you have to be grateful for: school, work, family, friends, coworkers, where you live, anything to you that is important and that you feel that gratitude for. As you're thinking of all those things, I want you to imagine taking those words and putting them into a bag. Taking that bag and holding it as close as you can to your heart. Embodying the gratitude that we have all around us. Thinking of how we can share that gratitude with others. Blessing, not only our lives, but those around us. Being aware of your surroundings again. Feeling that cool breeze. Hearing the birds chirping, the waves breaking, the sun gently kissing our cheeks. I want you to take three deep inhales through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Slowly opening your eyes, letting your head fall to the right, gently falling to the left, gazing up towards the sky, and letting your head and chin fall down to your chest. We're gonna take one more deep inhale through our nose and exhale everything through our mouth. Thank you so much for taking this time to find gratitude for those things around you. Namaste.
